Czech Republic visa requirements


Obviously, Czech Republic visa requirements depend on what type of Czech Republic visa you want to apply for. Czech Republic visa requirements – Short-term (Schengen) visa

The following documents are required for short-term (up to 90 days) visa for the Czech Republic.

  • short-term visa application form (to be downloaded here)
  • short-term visa fee
  • travel document – mainly your passport
  • 1 passport size photo of you
  • fingerprints (must be done in person at least once in 59 months)
  • supporting documents proving
    • purpose of your stay in the Czech Republic
    • place of your accommodation during your stay in the Czech Republic
    • enough funds to support yourself during your stay
    • intention to leave Czech Republic before your short-term visa expires (mainly return flight ticket)
  • travel health insurance

Czech Republic visa requirements – Long-term visa

The following documents are required for long-term (above 90 days) visa for the Czech Republic.

  • long-term visa application form (to be downloaded here)
  • long-term visa fee
  • travel document (mainly your passport)
  • 2 passport size photos of you
  • proof of funds (the exact amount depends on the purpose of your stay)
  • proof of accommodation
  • documents on the purpose of your stay (depend on the purpose of your stay)
  • Czech health insurance (required only when your visa is approved)

 Additional requirements

  • Background check (Police clearance certificate)
  • Medical check

Czech Republic visa requirements – Long-term residence, permanent residence and Czech citizenship

Long-term residence, permanent residence and Czech citizenships are technically not visas. They are ID cards similar to the ones Czech citizens use. Those permit requirements are based on the type (purpose) of the long-term visa you had before and they vary a lot from case to case.
