A note on birthplaces and dual citizenship

Many of our Israeli clients were born in Russia or former USSR countries. It is important to be aware that as of 2026, the Czech Republic maintains strict restrictions regarding Russian citizens (due to the ongoing government resolutions). 

If you hold both Israeli and Russian passports: This is currently a significant hurdle (and often a "hard stop") for most long-term visa applications. 

If you were born in Russia/USSR but only hold Israeli citizenship: While not an automatic denial, it does complicate the process. The Ministry of Interior conducts much more thorough background checks, which can lead to longer processing times or higher scrutiny.

Moving with Family: Family Reunification Visa

We understand that many are moving not just for work, but for the safety of their families. If one family member secures a Digital Nomad Visa or an Employee Card, the rest of the family (spouse and children) can apply for Family Reunification.

Corporate Paths: Employee Cards and Blue Cards

If you aren't a freelancer and instead have a job offer from a Czech company (or are being relocated by your employer), there are two main paths for you:

What About a Business Visa (Živno)?

While many Israelis run successful businesses, the standard Business Visa (purpose of entrepreneurship) is often the most difficult to obtain from abroad. 

Unless you have a clear link to the Czech market (local clients or a physical office here), the authorities are often skeptical. For those running global businesses with no Czech ties, the Digital Nomad Visa mentioned above is almost always a better, more secure entry point.
