Czech Digital Nomad Visa for Indian Citizens

Indian citizens are the latest edition to the nationalities eligible for the Czech Digital Nomad Visa which we describe in details in this Czech Digital Nomad Visa: Full 2025 Guide. Although this is great news for Indian nationals, it comes with some limitations as well. In this article, we focus on the specifics of the Czech Digital Nomad Visa for Indian applicants.

Specifics of Indians applying for the Czech Digital Nomad Visa

Compared to other nationalities eligible for the Digital Nomad Visa in the Czech Republic, these are the specifics for Indian citizens:

Submission of the Czech Digital Nomad Visa application – Indian nationals can only submit their Czech visa applications in India or in the country where they have been legally residing for more than 2 years. For example, if you are an Indian living in Dubai for one year, you can only submit your Digital Nomad Visa application through the Czech Embassy in India. If you are an Indian living in Dubai for three years, you can submit your application in India or in UAE.

Quotas for yearly submissions – if you are an Indian citizen who must submit their Czech Digital Nomad Visa application in India, you are also subject to yearly submission quotas. As of now, the quota is 24 applications a year (2 a month) for each of the version of the Digital Nomad Visa – 24 yearly for freelance Digital Nomads and 24 yearly for employed Digital Nomads.

Application process – basically all other nationalities that qualify for the Czech Digital Nomad Visa are allowed to come to the Czech Republic visa-free for 90 days. That makes especially the collection of documents part way easier. Indians are not allowed to enter the Czech Republic without a visa so they generally have to collect all the required documents distantly. That might be very complicated, and more so for the freelance version of the Digital Nomad Visa. We strongly recommend using experienced assistance such as ours to help you with your application to ensure efficient and flawless process.

Documentation – the main difference to for example American citizens is that Indian citizens must get an apostilled Police Clearance Certificate for their Digital Nomad Visa application.

Getting an appointment – since there are only four applications allowed for the Digital Nomad Visa monthly (two for the freelance version of it and two for the employment version of it), and since the Czech Embassy in India uses a very specific system to assigning applications, you might potentially wait for getting an appointment assigned to you for months.

Chances of approval – this is so far pretty mysterious due to India being added to the Czech Digital Nomad Visa program just recently. If we for example compare chances of an American getting a Czech visa approved and an Indian getting a Czech visa approved, Indian applicants might get 50% more details than Americans. The Digital Nomad program should simplify the application process so we do not expect Digital Nomad Visa applications being denied to Indian citizens as long as the application is prepared and submitted properly. On the other hand, there is not enough data yet.

The above article was not meant to discourage Indian citizens from applying for the Digital Nomad Visa in the Czech Republic. It was meant to prepare you for more complicated and more lengthy process compared to other nationalities eligible for the Czech Digital Nomad Visa.
